My Slate’s Ideas

Vivian for Social Chair

I’m running for Social Committee Chair to make Lawnparties more fun, transparent, and engaged with the student body by:

  • Allowing for student input into the headliner selection process

  • Featuring more DJs and Student performers to ensure that there is always something on the main stage before the headliner arrives (and in case they show up late)

  • Improving communications to keep students updated about day-of changes to the event schedule and solicit feedback we can use for future events

  • Institutionalize Tigerties as a collaboration between the DEI Committee, the Social Committee, and the Davis International Center to ensure that Princeton’s international students have a space to celebrate and share their culture

  • Focus the Dean’s Date budget on more supportive programming during finals period to provide study breaks and support student well-being

Rushil for USLC

I’m running for Undergraduate Student Life Committee (USLC) Chair to build bridges and increase conversations between USG, the larger student body, and University administrators. I’ll do this by

  • Creating student advisory committees on different issues or around shared backgrounds to bring key perspectives to USLC meetings and support USLC’s advocacy work, including an Independent Student Advisory Board

  • Bring back USLC’s campus liaison program to support affinity groups and reach out to marginalized identities on campus to meaningfully incorporate them into USG’s policy work

  • Host more roundtables for student engagement and proactively reach out to students throughout the semester

  • Increase communication and transparency regarding possible changes to University policy that will affect student life in all its forms

Danny for Academics

I’m running for Academics Committee Chair to expand access to academic exploration, make course selection more transparent, and promote flexibility. To do this, I will:

  • Use FYRE and the Academic Expo to make more information accessible to first-year students before they choose a path at Princeton

  • Integrate the syllabus library into course selection

  • Promote more flexibility for precepts by making departments add a p99 option

  • Advocate for student voices during Princeton’s ongoing academic transitions, like the move from TigerHub to Stellic, the creation of minors, and the final examination pilot

  • Continue to advocate for an option to take language classes PDF after the successful referendum

Anaya for CCA

I’m running for Campus and Community Affairs (CCA) Chair to expand access to programming and increase partnerships with the greater Princeton community. I’ll accomplish this by

  • Launching a Rewards Card Program that allows all students to earn vouchers for supporting local businesses

  • Providing students with more advance notice about upcoming events, so those who want to attend are prepared to register

  • Institutionalizing suggestion and feedback processes so that CCA has direct, ongoing student input on which needs are being met by current programming, which needs are not, and how we can improve moving forward

  • You can read my full platform here.

Gianna for Sustainability

I’m running for Sustainability Committee Chair to increase sustainability-centered programming on campus, reduce waste, and expand the committee’s collaboration with USG and other student organizations. Here’s my plan:

  • Creating monthly upcycling, sustainable cooking, and environmental literacy programs

  • Continuing to work on obtaining a shared campus closet and running clothing swaps to reduce waste

  • Building on SusComm’s work this year to bring increased Green career panels and symposia to Princeton

  • Reducing the waste produced by Lawnparties, campus celebrations, and other large events by working with the Social Committee and other student organizations
